Sugapa Intan Jaya, MediaHabema – One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in Intan Jaya Regency, Papua Tengah Province. On Wednesday, 4 September 2024, the 509 Task Forces, especially the Holomama Post led by First Lieutenant Wanianto, conducted a security patrol in Mamba Village, Sugapa District. During the patrol, the Patrol Team showed their care by sharing free clothes with the community members in the patrol area.
Emphasizing the Soldiers' role, the Commander of the 509 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, stressed the importance of the Task Forces’ attention to the basic necessities of the community around the Post. This message was not just words but an immediate call to action. Therefore, during the patrol in the village, which was carried out for the umpteenth time, the Soldiers used the time to share free clothes that had been prepared beforehand with the Mamba residents.
While maintaining their focus on security, the Soldiers took the opportunity to communicate with the residents. The response from the Mamba residents was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their happiness for the gifts. After receiving the Soldiers ' free clothes, the residents’ joy was immediately visible from their wide smiles and laughter. One Papuan Mother, Mrs. Liv Murib, even said, " Praise God, thank you, Commander 509. God bless", a testament to the strong bond between the community and the Task Forces. This heartwarming response from the community underscores the impact of the Task Forces' efforts and the gratitude of the Mamba residents. The Soldiers, witnessing this joy, were also filled with a sense of fulfillment and pride in their service to the community.
After receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, acknowledged the 509 Task Forces’ initiative to distribute free clothes to the Mamba residents. His words: "The 509 Task Forces' initiative is a testament to TNI's commitment to share free clothes for the community to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region." This acknowledgment from the highest authority in HABEMA underscores the importance of such initiatives. It instills a sense of hope and optimism about their potential to impact the region's development positively. It makes the Task Forces and the community feel recognized and appreciated for their efforts.
